HCMC is a level I trauma facility. The hospital has 455 beds and takes up five city blocks in the vicinity of Bank Stadium. In addition, it has several clinics in East Lake and throughout Minneapolis.

The University of Minnesota works with several health care institutions within Minnesota. The University of Minnesota Medical Center is the school’s university hospital. The facility takes up space on the East Bank and the West Bank along the Mississippi River. It is staffed by medical professionals who identify themselves as the University of Minnesota Physicians.
