At first glance I thought the Vikes blew it by not signing LaDainian Tomlinson. Chester Taylor is gone. AP isn’t the screen guy, and not much talent seems to be left out there. However, after reading a number of articles, it seems that LT was not interested in be a backup for AP. Further, when looking at his recent work with the Chargers, maybe there wasn’t much left in LT’s tank.
Now my question is: What are the Vikes going to do? Anything? Anyone? Bueller?
How about getting an offensive lineman to protect your quarterback (whoever that may be)? How about getting a mean, nasty linebacker to give the defense a little ugly? How about getting an offensive lineman to protect your QB? (Repeated that because we could use two; right side.)
Either way, do something. The trade for Allen two years ago was great. Why pay a rookie more money than a proven star? Let’s do it again. We seem so close, but just can’t get the last piece or two. My money says we need some, you guessed it, OFFENSIVE LINEMEN!
Drafting one means waiting a year or two or three or never. Trading for one means a proven veteran comes in now and starts. A proven commodity at fair market value.
Oh, and I would still go with a head coach who can adjust during the game, but that’s another rant for another day.
